Cam didn't know what had come over him that morning when his mother had handed him the keys and her "list" of errands. Not all bad from a quick glance, and he really didn't mind. But what he wanted to know was why in the heck was he driving to a practical stranger's house to ask if she wanted to run errands with him. The girl from the trail was on his mind. Thinking about how she was new in town, and he had offered to show her around, and now would be as good as time as any he supposed. Cam wouldn't necessarily call himself the welcoming community, but he was in a way. It sucked when kids moved during the summer as they didn't know anyone to go out and do stuff with. He was being nice he was telling himself, and it wasn't because she had a nice smile too.
Finding out where she lived wasn't that difficult if you knew the right people to ask, and Cam pulled his mom's car up to the curb of the Blue house with the white trim. He eyed it for a moment, thinking the worst thing that could happen was she was already busy and couldn't, leaving him to attend to errands alone. But...What if she thought he was boring? Hadn't that been something Sidney had told him? That he was boring and wasn't going to go anywhere? He was "too nice." He forced those thoughts away as he grumbled at himself and then climbed out of the car, jogging to the front step, he rapped his knuckles on the door and then waited for a few moments. He could hear footsteps moving around inside, and what looked like a curtain being pulled back when the door was finally opened and he came face to face with a dark-haired woman with a toddler on her hip. She appeared to still be in her pajamas's, wearing a dark robe. Cam blinked in surprise for a moment, expecting Catriona's mom to be a bit older. Did he have the wrong house?
The scent from inside was familiar to her own though, so maybe this was an older sister? Or some other relation? She had a similar facial structure to Catriona, so maybe he did? "Uh- Hi," He grinned at the woman, who was studying him curiously but she also had a reserved look on her face. "Is Catriona home?" He asked. Shock suddenly showed on the woman's face before she quickly recovered, and Cam swore he saw a glimmer of something that most mothers got in their eyes when they were about to meddle. "She is...And you are?" She asked curiously.
"Cameron Boehm, I met her the other day out on one of the forest trails." Cam quickly introduced himself, holding his hand out to her. "I offered to show her around town, and I'm running errands for my mom today and thought I'd see if she wanted to tag along? If it's okay of course." He quickly explained. The woman took his hand, and from the crackle of energy he suddenly felt shoot up his arm, he remembered Catriona saying her mom was a witch. And from the aura he could feel coming off of her, a powerful one at that.
Note to self, don't piss mom off. He thought. "Oh! Well I'm Andie, Kit's Mom, and this Elijah the tiny terror of a little brother." Mrs. Grey beamed at him, and he felt a little more relaxed. "Why don't you come in and I'll go get her?" She offered, and Cam smiled and nodded at her. Waving at the toddler who was demanding to be put down at that moment. "I'll be juuuuuuuust a second!" Mrs. Grey practically sang, as Cam came in and she closed the door behind him and headed for a set of stares. Climbing over the baby gate, she paused and quickly turned back around, "Eli you wanna get sissy or stay here?" She asked the toddler who stood between Cam and his mother. The little boy blinked and then looked up at Cameron, having to tilt his head way back to look up at him considering his height. "Pway? Wit me?" He asked, starting to walk towards Cam. "I'll take that as a no, I'll be right back Cameron! Just give him a truck and he'll be happy as a clam, KIT!" Mrs. Grey smiled and quickly turned to continue up the stairs in a rush.
Eli toddled over to Cam then, and he squatted down so he was at eye level with him. "Hey little dude, you wanna show me your truck?" He asked. "Yeah!" Eli exclaimed, and he quickly reached for Cam's hand, and he grinned as the little boy started to tug him towards the living room that appeared to have toy's already scattered across the floor.

This was a great idea!! Andie reminded herself to thank Conor for moving them back to the town he grew up in. This was exactly what Kit needed. Evident by the young man who had come all the way to their house to see if she wanted to go run errands like normal teenagers. If Andie wasn't in such a rush she would have done a happy dance at the top of the stairs. She was also thankful Conor had to leave early that morning for a job, but she had no doubt he'd probably text her later to see what had her so excited. He would no doubt be able to sense it from where he was in town. And the cause of that excitement? The prospect of her little girl finally getting to live as a teenager.
"Kit!" Andie hissed not bothering to knock as she practically threw open her bedroom door. It was only about 9:30 and like most teenagers, she expected Kit to still be asleep. "Honey wake up!" Andie whisper hollered, as she closed the door, starting to raid Kit's closet to help her find something to wear. "Caitriona Aideen Grey, there is a boy here to see you!" She exclaimed. Knowing the town was full of mythics, Andie tried to do her best to keep her voice down in case Cameron was another were. Not wanting to embarrass Kit, but it was damn hard to not just squeal in excitement for her.
Andie grabbed an arm full of clothes and tossed it on the bed and quickly skimmed it over, looking for something presentable before she reached for Kit's ankles and started to shake them.

Were she awake, she might have heard what was going on downstairs, she might have been startled to hear the boy's voice. But, as it was, it was summer, and that meant that Kit often slept in for as long as her mother allowed her to.
And apparently, that wasn't going to be for much longer.
'Kit!'
Andie might as well have been yelling, because it was loud enough for her daughter's tired, sensitive ears. She groaned in annoyance (as the routine usually went), and burrowed further under her blankets. "Don't you know that foxes are nocturnal?"
'Honey wake up!'
"Moooooooom-" she whined. "I don't work today, why are you torturing me?" She could hear the woman fluttering about, but still didn't bother to move, keeping her head underneath the pillow.
Then, suddenly, she was being middle named, and Andie mentioned there was some boy there to see her. Kit nearly laughed. "That's not funny." Nor was such a practical joke going to work on her. She wasn't budging.
That is, until her mother was grabbing her by the ankles, and she flipped the pillow off her head to give her such a glare that only the woman before her could have taught her.

Andie merely arched her brows in challenge to the icy glare that actually resembled her father’s. Oh, don’t you test her missy! “You can’t hear him?” Andie whispered frantically at her. She was the one with the super hearing! “I only soundproofed one room in this house young lad, and it wasn’t your room.” She quickly fired at her. Releasing her daughter’s ankles before she was going back to the task at hand.
Did Kit really think Andie would be in here making such a fuss over an invisible boy? “He wants to show you around town,” She hissed, tossed a shirt at her before quickly moving towards the door. She opened it up, and then proceed to shout down the hallway. “How are you doing Cameron?! Has he administered torture tactics yet?!” She asked. Leaning on the door frame while she patiently waited for a response.
Even Andie could hear the young man’s faint laugh, before he called back up. “We’re discussing color theory on pick-up trucks, so far so good!” Andie turned and made a pointed look at Kit before sticking her tongue out at her. Mouthing “believe me now???” at her.

"What?" she asked, ironically, when Andie was concerned with Kit not being able to hear the "mysterious boy" somewhere in the house. Granted, were she more awake and alert, she likely would have, but right now she was only able to concentrate on her mother who was already driving her crazy. And she was barely awake three minutes.
'I only soundproofed one room in this house, young lady, and it wasn't your room.'
She went deadpan, then pale, and then looked like she was going to throw up. "Oh my god, Mom! Ew! No, just...no, you can't tell me these things!" Scarred for life? Yeah, pretty much.
Her mother was talking again and she came very close to rolling her eyes. What boy? No one really knew where she lived yet, and she hadn't met many who she thought she'd leave any impression on. But something about "showing her around town" seemed familiar.
Then, Andie was yelling to someone downstairs. Cameron. Wait- Cameron?! The young wolf from the woods?!
Hearing him respond to her mother, every nerve in her body seemed to suddenly spaz as she sat up straighter in bed, blankets flying every which way; her dark hair mussed and those blue eyes were so wide that they might very fall right out of her skull.
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!" This came out in a barely audible freak-out-whisper before her mind managed to jumpstart and she was practically bouncing out of the bed in a panic. "I didn't think-" A pause, she began to struggle with getting dressed. "He's here!" Kit was completely baffled and eventually the excited squealing would emerge, but not yet. She was still just shocked that he even bothered to remember her, and enough to track her down! Also, she was aware that his hearing was likely impeccable and she was trying really hard to keep her voice down.
Of course, keeping her frantic footsteps silent was going to be impossible as she rushed back and forth like a mad woman to finish getting dressed and attempted to look like she didn't just wake up from death.

Well, it was about time… Andie promptly crossed her arms over her chest and harumphed as she watched Kit finally believe her and get out of bed. “I told you!” She whispered towards her. Despite her daughter’s panic, Andie tried her best not to actually smile. Seeing her freak out and try to get ready.
This is exactly what she wanted. Not for her daughter to panic per say, but this...Girlish excitement over a boy coming over unexpectedly? Scrambling to get ready, putting thought into an outfit, typical teenager things. This is what she wanted for her. Andie covered her mouth with a hand, grinning behind it before she finally relented and swooped in.
Hooking Kit by the elbow, she pulled her on the bed to stop the frantic moving around waved her hand over towards the hairbrush. It flew through the air, and she caught it expertly before she quickly went to work. Sticking her tongue out as she worked until Kit’s dark locks were brushed and then she bent down to help her feet into her shoes. “Deep breaths, sweetheart.” Andie whispered to her. “It’ll be fine.” Of course, it would be! It had to be.
When Andie had done her part she gently cupped the side of Kit’s cheek and grinned down at her. Patting it slightly before she swept out of the room, tying her bathrobe sash tightly around her midsection before heading towards the stairs, to see what Eli had poor Cameron doing.

Cam seriously didn’t mind kids, even if he wasn’t around them much. He mostly helped out with ten-year-olds when Rikki needed an extra hand for scouts, but the little dude? He seemed to know what exactly he wanted, and Cameron was merely there for their ride. Eli had pulled Cam to the middle of the floor, babbling a mile a minute. He wasn’t fluent in toddler, but he could make out a few words, and Cam gave him his full attention. Nodding and agreeing with him even if he didn’t know what the little boy was saying.
He did understand Truck though, and Eli must have pulled out ever truck that was in that toy bin, and was making Cameron line them up in a row. What Cam thought was rather cool though, was the fact he was already color coding them, grouping them by color as he laid them out in a circle. He offered the perfect distraction to what was going on upstairs. His ears picking up faint words, and one in particular made him pause, before he heard Kit’s protest that she’d be scarred for life. He couldn’t help but grin, and when her mom called down, he called back.
“Okay dude, it looks like your all out of trucks what are you going to do now?” Cam asked, spreading his hands out over the trucks. Eli seemed to see his dilemma, and Cameron watched his little brow furrow in thought. His brown eyes looked over the trucks, and he came over and actually sat himself down in Cam’s lap. Cam had been sitting criss cross, and his hands moved up under Eli’s armpits to pull him back a bit more so he was more comfortable, keeping an arm around him while he leaned slightly off to the side to watch the side of his face. He still had that look of concentration on his face.
“Wanna sort them by size? Big truck with big truck?” He asked, only it felt like they fell on deaf ears. Eli lifted up his hands then, palms out as he focused on his trucks, and for a brief moment Cam thought he saw the little boy’s face starting to turn red from how some sort of strain. His brows furrowed and his mouth parted just as Mrs. Grey came down the stairs, and opened up the baby gate. “Okay, she should be down shortly!” She sang, sounding a bit winded. She appeared in the open space then and Eli finally seemed to take an interest in reality again as he pointed at his trucks. “Fiah twucks, mama!” He said. “Are they all fire trucks?” She asked coming in and smiling. “You sorted them all by color!” She pointed out, her eyes flickering up to Cameron and mouthing a “thank you” at him.
He merely smiled and patted Eli gently on the back. The Little boy perfectly content to stay sitting in his lap. “No, Fiah Twucks!” Eli told his mother, waving his hands in a down ward motion. Mrs. Grey only chuckled tilting her head curiously at the arrangement the trucks were in. She seemed to blink in surprise, but quickly shook herself out of it. Hearing footsteps upstairs, he was already looking towards the staircase by the time Kit appeared.

Kit couldn't seem to get her eyes back to their normal size as she slipped on the shirt her mother had thrown at her before locating a pair of jeggings. "I didn't think he'd remember me!" she whispered back frantically. Not that she thought she was forgettable, per say, but she certainly wasn't used to this sort of thing. Having friends and any people in her life other than her parents and brother was something she was struggling to get used to. It hadn't been the norm for her until this summer.
And, of course, a cute boy coming to the door was naturally going to make any girl fluster.
Suddenly, Andie was grabbing her by the arm and sitting her on the bed; running a brush through her hair and it managed to calm Kit down somewhat. Then, she was slipping into a pair of comfortable flats and not her usual Converse for once.
'It'll be fine.'
"Hope you're prepared to explain to Dad why a wolf was here," she told her as she was leaving to head back downstairs. Oh, Conor would pick up the scent immediately, and he'd definitely have questions. Right now, Kit was glad he wasn't here.
Listening to her mother speaking with Cameron, she rushed from her room and across the hall so that she could brush her teeth and wash her face a bit. After a few minutes, she was forcing herself down those steps and casually hopping over the baby gate. She was always too lazy to ever open it.
Attempting not to look or sound weird, Kit made her way closer with one hand shoved in her back pocket; her shoulders shrugging up a little bit as she offered Cam a smile and a wave. "Hey."

Cam grinned as Kit entered, and he lifted a hand to wave back. “Hey!, Uh- I dunno if you remember me,” Wow dude, way to make this really awkward. He thought. It hadn’t occurred to him that Caitriona just might not actually remember him. For a brief moment, there was a spark of anxiety and it showed across his face for a split second. Of course, hearing what he had from upstairs, should have squashed the anxiety goblin voice, but it just made him feel more like an idiot at that moment.
“We met on the ranger trail a couple days ago? Cameron,” He pointed to himself, telling himself to just get this over with. At Least Eli liked him right? That was a win. “My uh,” He couldn’t help the sheepish laugh that escaped from him. “Mom has me running errands around town today, wasn’t sure if you wanted that tour…” He trailed off. “And it’s totally cool if you don’t! I just thought, you might want to see what the town has to offer and everything…” He quickly added, his eyes darted to Mrs. Grey was clearly trying desperately not to laugh, but she was doing well at covering her mouth with a hand, putting that contemplative mother look on her face.

'I dunno if you remember me.'
Did she look awkwardly at him? Because it felt like she was, since that was the most absurd thing she had ever heard before. Who in their right mind wouldn't remember him? No, she probably shouldn't say that. That would be weird.
When he continued, she finally blinked and nodded with a shy smile. "Yeah, of course. Cam," she said, repeating after him as she, too, seemed to point in his direction to further solidify who he was. Kit really wished her mother wasn't standing there- it didn't seem to help matters at all. Then he mentioned showing her around town, and the girl was turning to that very woman with a questioning look on her face. "It alright if I go, Ma?" she asked, even though she already knew Andie was about to straight up kick her out of the house right now.
