The drive from XC to the coast was a long one. Two and half hours to Portland and then another two hours to the coast essentially made it an all-day trip that could get boring. On the back of a motorcycle? Not possible. There was something about the wind rushing past you, feeling the rumble of the bike beneath you, and seeing the pavement race underneath you that gave you a different sense of time.
And when you were traveling with your best buds, racing down the freeway? Even better. Chogan didn’t know if they were the first ones to arrive or not, nor did he care. He only knew they’d left at the crack of dawn, had to witness Mrs. Callhan mother the twins while also issuing out threats, and they were off.
He estimated it was about noon when the “rebels” rolled into the off-road park where there was a small parking lot. The smell of the ocean instantly filled his sinuses as he pulled his helmet off, shaking out to those inky locks while ran a hand through his hair, slicking it back, and squinted up at the sky. A large grin soon spreading across his face. This was exactly what he and the boys needed. They didn’t always get into trouble, and believe it or not, causing trouble could be exhausting.
Turning the bike off, he unstraddled it and adjusted the backpack on his back, and started to dig through the saddlebags on his bike. Pulling out a six-pack of soda, and a grocer bag he reached up and stuck a bag of chips between his teeth before he tossed a bottle of sunscreen at one Kai Callahan . “For your delicate complexion,” he meant it say, but it sounded more like "Oor, U Lilica, compussuion", muffled by the bag of chips, but the shit-eating grin he had from around the chips was enough to let the twins know Chogan fully believed they’d be going home looking like lobsters at the end of the day. As olive-toned as Denali and Chogan were, they rarely burned, and if they did it wasn’t nearly as bad as the white folk.
Tucking his helmet under his arm, he started to head towards the path towards the beach. It was a short walk with a small drop that was nothing to someone as tall as Cho, and he padded out onto the sand, looking left and right to find their perfect spot.
