Order of Perseus
The Order of Perseus, sometimes known only as "The Order" by those who know of it, has been around since ancient times. Its history traces back farther than this name; they claim roots in the monster hunters that arose in early human tribes to fight the 'evil' that rose up around them. Members of The Order believe that they have been called to hunt and kill the creatures that threaten humanity.
Their name comes from the man who killed Medusa and stole her head, and for this reason, they use the head of Medusa in much of their imagery. Members wear an amulet similar to Catholic saints pendants, but with an image of Medusa. This is their identifier and allows them into any Order safe house.
Members of The Order train their children in the ways of The Order, and thus the lineage has continued and expanded over thousands of years. The Order believes that Humans were given the Earth by their God and that any other creatures (such as werewolves, vampires, aliens) or corruptions (shifters, witches) must be wiped off the face of the Earth. There are no good 'monsters' in their beliefs; by their teachings, any compassion or sympathetic emotion demonstrated by non-humans is merely a ploy to keep themselves alive.
Any member of The Order is obligated to allow other members (with pendant identification) into their home for three nights with no expectation of compensation. This gives members a network of safe-houses to stay in across several countries and continents.
Members are trained in hand-to-hand combat, firearms, archery, and bladed weapons. It can be assumed that any captured member is hiding several weapons on their person.

American Hunters Association
The American Hunters Association, or AHA, is a less formal organization begun by early colonists of the North American continent. They tend to hunt only dangerous creatures: wendigo, vampires, rogue aliens, etc. Creatures that have harmed humans will be killed. They typically do not hunt any creature that is not directly causing harm.
Many members of the AHA are everyday people whose lives were interrupted by the paranormal; after seeing what was truly at work in the world, they were unable to move on. Because of this, their beliefs vary greatly: some are as zealous as The Order in their belief that anything non-human is evil, while others simply feel it is their responsibility to protect the innocent from dangerous creatures.
Membership resources are easy to find online, and avid members spend a great deal of time on ghosthunting, monster hunting, and occult message boards recruiting members. Membership of the AHA is maintained through their website and anyone who passes a simple training class can earn their certification and membership. Dues are $35 once a year.
The AHA is not formally trained. Members often rig their own weapons and traps and share tips with each other.
