-Basics-
Face Claim: Kim Rhodes
Name: Judith "Jody" Callahan (Nee Watson)
Age: 42
Gender: Female
Species: Storm Witch
Height: 5'10
Fashion: Lumberjane. Jody wears practical clothes, preffering t-shirts, flannels and button ups with a pair of jeans. She rarely dresses up and tends to keep her hair short.
Physical Description: Jody is a tall thin woman with dark hair and dark brown eyes. She has the mom look mastered and tends to keep her dark hair short. It's starting to get sprinkles of grey, a fact she could care less about as it's just hair. Jody tends to keep them covered all the time, but she has a tattoo sleeve on her right arm, depicting various things. Forrest themed in nature, however, there are images of what looks to be a rolling storm over an ocean. On the inner part of her forearm, she has her son's birth flower. On the front of her hips and lower abdomen, she has a sunset with a tree that looks like the tree of life, with its limbs trailing upward. She never wear's a swimsuit and never mentions the fact she even has tattoos. In fact, she does so well at covering them, the boys even forget she has them.
-Personality-
Description: Jody is a rule follower with a grey area. She follows her own rules and is extremely protective of her sons. She's also very motherly, and expects to be listened too or else you'll find yourself grounded. Honestly and openness has always been big for her, despite the fact she's a hypocrite and knows it. She wants her kids to be able to come to her about anything, and she's always honest with them, and tries to be fair. However, she sometimes will put her foot down. She's raising "little gentlemen." As she calls them, not hoodlums and delinquents and has gone out of her way to prevent them from becoming that.
However her efforts appear to be somewhat in vain...
Everything Jody has done as been to protect her family. She denied her witch heritage and has essentially lived as a human for the last seventeen years. Keeping things secret in hopes if she doesn't talk about it, then it can't come true. There is absolutely nothing she won't do for her kids or family.
She's very sassy and headstrong. As stubborn as a mule, and has a very hard time admitting she was wrong. She likes to backtalk/question everything. Especially her ex-husband and his decisions, mostly because she wants to understand how his brain works, but also to annoy the feck out of him. She's not afraid to put someone in their place and to also give them the shirt off her own back. She has a bit of dry humor, that kids sometimes don't get which leaves her laughing at her own jokes most of the time.
She's done well in keeping herself together the last few years and pretending she's fine since the divorce, but the truth is she's lonely. She misses Jim though she'll never tell him that to his face, and is angry at him for letting his drinking get in the way of not only their marriage, but their children. She wishes he would have been more open with her. Now she's just civil and grumbles under her breath all the time because he's now her boss.
Whenever she's sad or she cries, it tends to rain.
-Background-
History:
Jody was originally from Xander's Cross. In fact, she was born to a family of proud storm witches. She grew up relatively happy, she had best friends, a family that loved her, and she loved being a witch. As she grew up she dreamed of joining the police force, and followed her dream, starting out small until she decided to go bigger. On her last weekend home before her big move, the town Fair took place. She visited the fortune tellers tent like any other small town girl would, however instead of receiving what might be a "happy" fortune, Jody's was much more darker.
There had been something different in the air, as it crackled with energy, and the fortune teller for a moment seemed to almost be possessed as it didn't tell Jody a regular fortune. It told her a prophecy of twin witches with the heart of the storm in their blood. What was most unsettling was the fact it was male witches being foretold. Something that was rare in the witch community. Given the fact, Jody was highly superstitious, she believed every word, and had left that tent more shaken then when she'd entered it.
Surely it couldn't be true right? Just a hoax? None the less, Jody left Xander's Cross and started her own adventure until she landed in New York. The road was a tough one, but she was a tough cookie, and it was there she met Jim Callahan . Someone who was nearly as stubborn as her, and who knew just how to push the right buttons. She hadn't intended to fall, but she certainly had. She tried countless times to try and tell Jim she was a witch, but the time was never right. So, she continued to hide that part of herself from him well until they were married.
When she found out she was pregnant, that old prophecy started to creep back, and when she realized she was carrying twin boys, she knew. Jody did the hardest thing she'd ever done. Swearing she'd never return to Xander's Cross, she essentially had to call and tell her family she was denouncing her witch heritage (something they all called her insane over) and that from here on out, she would live the life as a human in order to protect her sons from whatever the universe has chosen them for.
She did just that for several years. Living happily with her family until Jim started to drink heavier then usual, and it wasn't long before he wasn't letting her in. Then the arguing started, and then the divorce happened. She had intended to stay in New York, but after some circumstances, Jody broke her own rules. Believing the only place safe for the boys was back in Xander's Cross, she packed them up, gave Jim their new address, and moved.
They've been there for the last three years, and Jim surprised her by moving out to Xander's Cross as well to be near the boys. The downside? He's her new boss. Jody's been civil for the most part, however, she has been watching the twins like a hawk to see if they've shown any magical abilities yet. She'll never admit it, but she fears for them, and wants to do everything in her power to protect them, even if it means no longer denying what she really is.
