The same with practice could be said about writing. Kit wanted to be an accomplished author just like her mother and always tried to write even a couple sentences of something a few times a week. A part of her was always going to think she wasn't good, but that other part wasn't willing to give up just yet.
Ready to say goodbye, she paused when he continued to speak. Although he worried about it coming out wrong, it didn't. At least, it wasn't how she viewed it. Cam had been nothing but nice from the start, and there was nothing creepy about it. She didn't even feel on edge, even knowing he was a wolf.
'If you want a Xander's Cross tour at all, lemme know.'
Her smile beamed. "That sounds great, honestly," she confessed. It was better than simply wandering around trying to learn the town on her own, or bombarding Cassie and Nolan with question. If Cameron was willingly okay with doing it, then why not? "I'll catch you later then," she added, back-stepping a couple steps on the path, moving to go the opposite way as him now. "Have fun practicing." She almost rolled her eyes at herself. That sounded silly once she said it.
Then, she offered a little wave before forcing herself to turn around and begin to walk away.

Cam felt himself stilling for a brief moment. Frozen in place as Kit beamed that smile at him. He was a bit taken aback and his first thought was, Woah. As it had lit up her face in a way he hadn't seen yet. She had a nice smile he thought immediately afterward. Her smile brought out his own as he grinned right back at her.
"See ya!" He called offering her a small wave. He watched her turn away and start walking on the path, and he nearly turned and left himself when he suddenly remembered. "AH hey, Catriona- I mean Kit!" He quickly corrected himself with what she preferred to be called. "Watch out for the white deer!" He warned. Most people knew in Xander's Cross not to mess with the deer, but the new people in town didn't. "They're like us." He said under his breath hoping she could still hear him as he started his trek to the practice spot.
