Because of child labor laws, Chogan couldn't live at the tattoo shop like he wanted too, besides that, the boss lady wouldn't have allowed it. Once his shift was over, he didn't really have much else to do. Dad was at work, Shay had moved out, which meant he had the trailer all to himself. What he might have made a small fit over, he didn't today. He still had that drawing of Kit he'd started that he wanted to finish. Granted, no one else knew it was her. Her face wasn't visible. Chogan had been behind her, peeking around the doorway when he snapped the picture of her holding her camera up at the ceiling while she laid on the floor. It was a cool shot, and he'd wanted to turn it into a drawing. He'd worked on it off and on during his shift when he could get away with it, but there was still a lot to do.
It was on his mind as his bike rumbled through old cross, down past the old renter houses, and he turned towards the trailer park where some of the Aikopy's lived. It was just Chogan and his dad now. Their place was small, but for just the two of them, it was more than enough. After Shay had moved out, Cho finally got the second room all to himself, and Dad of course had the master room. He turned down the short gravel road when he neared their section and took a right. Trailer home after trailer home he passed, some looking far nicer than others when he came into view. It was dirtied white color now, but unlike some of his neighbors, Chogan at least tried to keep the place picked up. He had to live in the trailer park, it didn't mean he was trailer park trash...
He pulled into his small driveway with the cart port overhanging. Dad was of course working in the mines, so his truck was gone. He turned the bike off and pulled his helmet off. Shoving it under his arm as he rounded the corner to take the steps up the deck, only there was someone sitting on the steps waiting for him. His steps falter, and he canted his head to the side, seeing denali sitting there. It wasn't unusual for Chogan to come home to his best friend waiting for him, but on some days he could tell right away when Den was in a mood or not. Usually pertaining to his dad.
Chogan slowly approached before he bent over and reached up to grip Denali by his jaw gently, and angle his head up to see the sporting red mark on his friend's cheekbone. Yep... Mr. Pahre showing some old-fashioned love again... If he had any guess. Denali really didn't have to say much about his home life. Chogan had been friends long enough with him to know what was up. His mom worked nights, and his dad was a mean drunk. Denali often stayed the night if his dad got really bad, and his sister was taken care of. Some nights, even Yura came with Denali, as it was better than sleeping at the park (Which he'd caught her once doing, and proceeded to chew her ass out for.) Yura might not have been in their "crowd" but she was D's sister. She had a place here too.
He kept waiting for the day when Pahre took it too far because that would be the day Chogan gave him someone his own size to pick on. Even if he was Denali's dad, he wasn't going to let him beat his children back and blue. So far, the man had been lucky that it was just a few sparse bruises...
Cho let go of Denali and then ruffled his hair lightly. "You eat yet?" He asked, going up the steps as he jangled his keys to find his house key.
